Living Direct - Edgestar Icemaker IB120SS and contact difficulty

I was on my second Edgestar Icemaker which they replaced under warranty. Great customer service, but very difficult to contact by phone.

I don't think they want people to call with issues!!!

Anyway my second Edgestar had the ice maker module fail, so I ordered one in January 2023. It failed at the 2 year mark.

The module was not in stock and was on back order for 2 months. After waiting 2 1/2 months, I called and they said it would be another month of waiting.

This went on for month after month, so in August I cancelled the order and they said the refund should show up in my account is 5-10 business days.

After another month and not seeing the money in my account, I called and the rep said she could not find my order or the cancellation.

When I gave her the order # (reading it from the original order email confimation) and she said it must be incorrect because "their order numbers start with an 8" and mine started with a 1. I gave up talking with her.

I had earlier sent an email to customer service that I never got an answer from, but was now in my inbox stating they had refunded the money (no other details) and it must be an error on the part of my bank.

Although the reps were courteous, I felt this company does every thing it can to avoid a phone call from the consumer.

If I ever get my $121.90 back, I'll repost an update here.

Purchased from eBay. Both (upper and lower) temperatures will not adjust below 80 degrees. Worked fine for about 8 months - now won't cool wine - worthless. Are there parts available for this unit? Where, warranty?

Ice maker not getting water, not making ice. 2 weeks old.

My IB250SS is not making ice. It is cold but not delivering the water to the ice component. It is only 2 weeks old. I have sent in a service request to have it repaired. I have not received a phone call or email back. It is in the middle of the summer and this unit is 2 weeks old. Can you you give me a phone number to talk with someone or have someone call me to set up a service appointment? Helen Camenisch 302 245-****. Or email me at least. Your website has no phone numbers. I was finally contacted by a service representative from the company Living Direct. She was very helpful and she offered me a new ice maker but it would take 6-8 weeks to be delivered.

By that time Lowe's where I purchased the ice maker had ordered me a new one. It is suppose to be in on July 20th. I am still with out an ice maker. I have been doing the old fashioned way as none of my refrigerators has an ice maker.

Thank you for all your help. I really was not trying to trash this company , all I wanted was someone to contact me. They did right away when I put something on your website all be it a ranting rage.

Problem with my airconditioner

I have code p1 on my pac1402 kold front mobile airconditioner,also it does not biow cold air. So far idid the following:shortened the eexaus hose to aboyt 2feet,drained both plugs,cleaned filter . Nothing helped. Please let me know what to do. Thanks,Michael

LG washer / Dryer bought from living direct

Called living direct to get warranty information and they had no idea of my purchase or when my item was bought since it was done through amazon. Amazon had no record of the transaction since it was shipped from living direct. Long story short I found the receipt and the only info living direct could give me was. 1 year parts warranty and 5 year motor and driver warranty. Called LG said they would come and service the motor and driver and never showed up cause of covid 19 pandemic. How do I get a hold of LG complaint department ? Can you please provide me with the number to file a complaint.

No calls. Put all complaints in writing and serve via Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested.

You then establish an admissible legal timeline for your case. No e-mails, no calls.

Keep it brief, polite, and firm. Avoid third party sellers in the future.

A/C Unit under warranty, not able to get service

Have spent hours on phone with Living Direct, Electrolux, and New Leaf regarding an a/c unit that stopped working with almost two years remaining on an extended warranty. Each tells me that it's the other's responsibility. I saved all the e-mails I received about the purchase and extended warranty, but when I went to click on the link for invoice information, I only got 404 errors. Living Direct said it was because of changing computer systems and transition to build.com. 92 degrees inside the house, and have dealt with this for a week without getting anywhere. They've sent me in circles with, "Let me transfer you to another department," and I end up right back where I started. New Leaf insisted on an invoice number. I have every kind of number but an invoice number, and Living Direct said they don't have invoice numbers and sent me a .txt file with everything they had. A .txt file! They said it was because they were having to work with the IT dept to get that information. Absolutely unreal. If you look at the Contact Us page of their website, it should be a red flag. Notice no phone numbers, only addresses, for management. This unit lasted barely over a year. Do not buy from this company.

To clarify why I was dealing with three different companies: The extended warranty was an add-on purchase whose box I checkmarked on the same page as the product purchase. The extended warranty verification email came from Frigidaire whom I called initially but had not received a return call after four days, and when I called again, Frigidaire said their agents had "miscoded" my information, and they would start over.

I went ahead and called LivingDirect, was transferred multiple times, then told that their computer system was in transition and that their extended warranties had been farmed out to another company, New Leaf.

So I called New Leaf who could find no record of my transaction, needed an invoice number. I had an order #, a contract #, and a reference #, but nothing specifically called an invoice #, and Living Direct referred the problem of finding an invoice # to their IT department from whom I received a .txt file with only the information I already had.

I purchased from them in December they charged me then refunded me two days later because they told me they no longer carry what i ordered. I said ok i will order elsewhere which i did. 4 months later they charge my card again I called and ask why and they said it was for my order from December, i told them no i was refunded back then and told that they no longer carry the item, the manager then told me well you ordered it and its in stock now and already being shipped. I told them to cancel and refund me that ridiculous to charge someone after yo said you dont have it and he told me well if you want to return it you can pay to ship it back and we can refund you. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? you tell me you no longer carry something then charge me 4 MONTHS LATER!! and expect me to pay to ship it back so i can get the money you had no right taking in the first place back. Worst customer service, unorganized, unprofessional and just down right rude. I will never buy from them again i will continue to warn anyone who tries.

I received delivery this morning of an EdgeStar Wine Refrigerator, purchased from Living Direct, and it had a large dent in its outside frame. The unit worked when plugged in, but the dent was very visible. I called Living Direct, and in very short order, I received a 13% damage discount of my purchase price. The operator with whom I spoke was very courteous and dealt with my issue very quickly, never challenging me and giving me no hassles. I am very pleased and impressed and will likely order from Living Direct in the future. Nice to deal with a company that has integrity and has its act together.

Living Direct - Dishwasher Review

I am truly upset about this order. The price to return this order to your company costs me more than the product itself. When I originally ordered this item it mentions nothing about hiring an electrician to install the dishwasher. When I open the box there was a scratch on the front door panel and then water spilled out from the dishwasher. I'm going to assume that the dishwasher was tested and not used. Anyway now I am stuck with a dishwasher that is scratched, cannot even be plugged in, and cost me just as much to return. When I called customer service due to the fact that I needed a return label, the gentleman stated that the reason for my return was it didn't fit into my kitchen properly. this isn't true. When I called I mentioned that it had a scratch and that I couldn't get plugged in. I'm very upset about this order. I will never order from your company again.

Not honoring 30 day price match - Poor service and hidden fees on returns

Do not purchase from this company. I wish I had read the reviews first. Less than 10 days after purchasing my wine cooler, I found the exact model for $221 less. I called Living Direct to inquire into their 30 day price match which they will not honor. I would caution any one from purchasing any product from Living Direct as they do no honor their price match policy. it really is false advertising. As I tried to negotiate for a portion of the savings, the company was unwilling to accommodate an equitable arrangement and now I will be paying a 15% surcharge and full delivery to return the item. At this point I'm willing to forfeit the potential savings that I would have seen just so they won't be able to count the sale.

Falsely advertised item and then refused to take it back without charging restocking fees!

I ordered a BWC120SS cooler from WineCoolersDirect aka LivingDirect aka Edgestar because it was advertised to have a temp range from the upper 30s to the mid 50s Fahrenheit. First unit wouldn't get into the top half of the range. Sent it back for a replacement. Second one did the same. But then the company wouldn't take it back without a restocking fee. Had to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and with my credit card company - still waiting to get my money back after Living Direct (Pete, specifically) hung up on me when I continued to insist that false advertising by the company (that the cooler would reach the mid50s at it highest temp setting) shouldn't put the customer out ANY money rather than let him scam me with his "I'm trying to help you out bit and only charge you a 15% restocking fee rather than a higher one" line. I have yet to receive the advertised item, which is the only item I agreed to pay money for. Therefore they owe me a FULL refund. I highly suggest others shop elsewhere - this does not at all seem to be an ethical company:(
